Edward R. Quinn, Jr.
President & Chief Executive Officer
- Ed began his career in 1978 as an examiner for the Drake Insurance Company in Cranford, N.J., and subsequently worked as a field adjuster for Reliance Insurance Company's New York City branch. He started E.R. Quinn Co., Inc., in 1996 and formed Rockville Risk Management, a TPA handling programs in 50 states, in 2003 along with George Marr. Ed is an alumnus of St. Francis College in Brooklyn and a member of the International Association of Claims Professionals, International Insurance Society, National Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters, Trucking Industry Defense Association, John Street Association and Nassau Suffolk Claims Managers Association. His father, Edward Quinn, Sr., and son, Edward Quinn, III, are both in the claims business.
James M. Lynch, CPCU
Chief Operating Officer
- Jim joined E.R. Quinn Co. in 2010 following a 33-year career with Amica Mutual Insurance Company. As Amica's senior regional vice president, he was the leading branch-based claims officer with oversight for numerous branch offices in six states. During his tenure with Amica, the company won 11 consecutive prestigious national customer service awards. Jim has experience with nearly every claims role from adjuster through branch manager. He brings a broad range of experience to Quinn Co. including specific expertise in customer service, administrative responsibilities and human resources. Jim is a licensed independent adjuster as well as an authorized arbitrator and mediator for bodily injury lawsuits for many major insurance carriers. He is a magna cum laude graduate of St. Francis College in Brooklyn and a member of the Long Island Chapter of the CPCU Society and oversees the extensive E.R. Quinn Co. educational programs.
Peter Byrne
Chief Information & Technology Officer
- Pete's expertise in information and technology spans over 20 years. He joined E.R. Quinn Co. in 2010. As a senior member of the executive team, Pete is responsible for all areas of the company's IT development, support and daily operations to include client services, infrastructure, business-critical applications and services, and end-user environments. Prior to joining E.R. Quinn Co., he served as the vice president and Chief Technology Officer for QBE the Americas, a global reinsurance and insurance company. Pete is a graduate of Clarkson University where he studied business administration with a concentration in technical communications. He also holds a diploma in technical support from The Chubb Institute.
Christine A. DeChiaro
Vice President & Operations Manager
- Christine has been in the claims business for over 25 years and has been with E.R. Quinn Co. since its inception. She has responsibility for the firm's accounting and bookkeeping functions and manages all activities relating to the smooth operation of the firm.
Previously, Christine worked in the industry handling claim files which included trial preparation and client management. Her additional duties involved supervising the field adjusters and running the day-to-day activities of the office.
In her earlier career, she was with Con Edison where she oversaw outside field technicians and assisted several high-level executives with their daily work flow.
Christine has a passion for customer service and quality work product and has been directly responsible for the high degree of client satisfaction which has resulted in the dynamic growth of the firm.
Emmanuel Arifakis
Casualty Claim Manager
- Manny has been in the claims business since 1981. He has an extensive background in the claims industry including a position as construction claims manager with Zurich North America and OSHA 30-hour certification. Manny's expertise includes dealing with many Fortune 500 clients, multiline and multistate exposures as well as construction, commercial automobile, property and casualty, homeowners, and coverage exposures. He is passionate about developing relationships with customers, brokers and colleagues, and he always achieves excellent results.
Christopher G. Ryan, CPCU
Property Claim Manager
- Chris joined E.R. Quinn Co. in January 2010 with over 24 years of experience in property and casualty claims. Prior to joining E.R. Quinn Co., he held the position of Claims Analyst at Allstate, beginning in 1997, where he handled large losses. Chris is a licensed insurance broker in the state of New York, and the issuance of his independent adjuster's license is pending. He is certified for all commercial, mobile home and residential flood claims by the National Flood Insurance Program, Bureau & Statistical Agent, and NFIP U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Chris holds the CPCU designation and is on the board of directors of the Long Island Chapter. He is also a panelist with Arbitration Forums Incorporated. Chris is a graduate of St. John's University where he studied quantitative analysis.
Ralph Riemensperger, CPCU
Senior General Adjuster
- Ralph joined the E.R. Quinn Co. team in 1999 after a 10-year career with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company followed by 28 years with Swiss Re America (SRA). As a member of management and Property Claims Manager with SRA, he had responsibility for all property claims in North America and managed Swiss Re worldwide claims that occurred in America or where Swiss Re worldwide ceding companies were in need of help in the U.S.A. In addition, Ralph was the Claims Manager for SRA brokerage business (JK Battershill) and Western Atlantic Re's and M & G Re's runoff together with Atrium Corporation Claims. His range of experience runs from the smallest of carriers to the mega carriers. For years, he was an adjunct Professor at Hofstra University. Ralph is a member of the board of the Long Island Chapter of the CPCU Society and currently serves as secretary. He is active in the national CPCU society, has been elected as a national board member/governor for the Northeast, and has served on both the Reinsurance and Claims Sections.
